Launch of Emergency Care Partners
Varsity Healthcare Partners (VHP) kicked off a major partnership with Louisiana’s emergency medicine leaders, PEMM and PEPA. By combining these two powerhouses, they formed Emergency Care Partners—a new platform designed to scale quickly through hospital contract wins and strategic acquisitions across the region.
Welcome to New York!
Emergency Care Partners (ECP) took a huge step toward becoming a national player by merging with Progressive Emergency Physicians (PEP). This move bridged the gap between the Gulf Coast and the Northeast, bringing a major New York-based provider into the ECP family.
Merged with AEP
After expanding North, Emergency Care Partners (ECP) returned its focus to Louisiana by merging with Ascension Emergency Physicians (AEP). By bringing this Gonzales-based group into the fold, ECP tightened its grip on the region and added the "Our Lady of the Lake Ascension" contract to its growing portfolio.
Entering the Chicago Market
ECP officially planted its flag in Illinois by merging with Illinois Emergency Medicine Specialists (IEMS). This addition shifted ECP from a regional East Coast/Gulf Coast provider to a true multi-regional force by adding a strong Chicago-based team to the roster.
Expanding into the Carolinas
ECP continued its national push by merging with Eastern Carolina Emergency Physicians (ECEP). This move marked ECP’s official entry into the North Carolina market, adding another high-performing regional provider to its growing network.
Building a Florida Presence
Continuing its 2023 growth streak, ECP merged with Integrated Emergency Medicine Specialists (IEMP). Based in Naples, IEMP has been a staple of the Southwest Florida medical community since 2015, bringing a reputation for high-quality ER management to the national ECP platform.
Launching Missouri Physician Partners
ECP kicked off the year by expanding into the Midwest through a new partnership with Missouri Physician Partners (MPP) to manage emergency services for three key hospitals in the region: Wright Memorial, Hedrick Medical Center, and Pershing Memorial.
Expanding in the Midwest
ECP deepened its presence in the Chicago market by partnering with Dr. Eduardo Navarrete to launch Lake Emergency Partners (LEP). This new group was established specifically to manage the emergency department at INSIGHT Chicago Hospital, INSIGHT Coldwater Hospital in Michigan, further cementing ECP’s influence in the Midwest.
A Major Move into Arizona
ECP officially headed West by merging with The Emergency Center of Arizona. Now operating as Canyon State Emergency Partners (CSEP), the group continues to be led by Dr. Keith Butler and manages 14 different Dignity Health emergency departments across the Greater Phoenix area.
A New Hub in the Midwest
In a move that solidifies its position as the nation’s largest single-specialty emergency medicine provider, ECP launched Ohio Emergency Medicine Services (OEMS). This new partnership serves as ECP's dedicated platform for managing and growing emergency department services across the state of Ohio.
