Founded in 2013, Progressive Emergency Physicians (PEP) supports a total of seven contracts: five located throughout Long Island and two located in Pennsylvania. Led by the group’s President, Dr. Andy Sama, PEP joined Emergency Care Partners (ECP) in February of 2019.
PEP believes that possibly the greatest challenge facing hospital executives is physician engagement. Misaligned incentives can lead to poor clinical and fiscal performance. Progressive Emergency Physicians understands this dynamic. The group’s ownership model drives a culture of engagement that is led by physicians with an acute understanding of both emergency medicine and business strategy. Focused data analysis is used to deploy a successful strategy tailored specifically for the hospitals they serve.
PEP delivers robust evidence-based and data-driven solutions implemented by clinicians whose goals and incentives are aligned with the needs of the hospitals. PEP’s culture of accountability will continue to reach and surpass target goals and enact meaningful change to better serve their partner hospitals and patients for which they care.
