Hood Memorial Hospital
This 25-bed critical access facility features a 6-bed emergency department managing an annual volume of 10,000 patients with 24-hour physician coverage. The site offers competitive hourly rates under independent contractor (IC) status for BC/BE physicians in emergency, family, or internal medicine, with third-year residents welcome to apply. Non-BC-EM physicians require current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Woman's Hospital
Recognized as the largest delivery hospital in Louisiana with 8,000 annual deliveries, this modern, high-tech facility provides specialized emergency and obstetric care supported by 24/7 OB coverage. The 10-bed emergency department operates with continuous 24-hour physician coverage alongside 12 hours of daily advanced practice provider (APP) support.
St. James Parish Hospital
This 25-bed critical access hospital operates an 8-bed ED with an annual patient volume of 11,500, equipped with updated technology and 24/7 radiology and laboratory support. Staffing includes 24-hour physician coverage with competitive hourly IC rates open to BC/BE physicians across EM, FM, or IM, as well as third-year residents. Non-BC-EM candidates must maintain active ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Pointe Coupee General Hospital
This 25-bed critical access hospital features a 13-bed emergency department managing an annual volume of 11,200 with 24-hour physician coverage and modern, advanced technology. Open to BC/BE physicians in emergency medicine, family practice, or internal medicine, as well as third-year residents, the role offers competitive hourly rates under independent contractor (IC) status. Candidates who are not board-certified in emergency medicine must hold current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Thibodaux Regional Medical Center
This facility features a 17-bed emergency department with a dedicated Fast Track, managing an annual volume of 43,000 using Meditech EMR and supported by excellent specialty back-up. Staffing is robust, offering 36 hours of physician coverage alongside 32 hours of daily APP coverage. The role provides competitive hourly rates under independent contractor (IC) status for physicians who are BC/BE in either Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine.
Opelousas General Health System - Main & South Campus
Across its 35-bed Main Campus (with Fast Track) and 9-bed South Campus, the health system manages a combined annual volume of 51,300 patients using EPIC EMR and full on-site imaging and laboratory services. Both locations feature comprehensive daily staffing—providing a combined 83 hours of physician coverage and 44 hours of APP support. Independent contractor positions with competitive hourly rates are open across both campuses to BC/BE physicians in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine.
Riverside Medical Center
This 25-bed critical access hospital features a 10-bed emergency department with Fast Track, managing an annual volume of 15,000 using an integrated EMR system. The facility provides 24-hour physician coverage with competitive hourly rates under independent contractor (IC) status. Opportunities are open to third-year residents and BC/BE physicians in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine, with active ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required for non-BC-EM candidates.
