About Professional Emergency Medicine Management (PEMM)
Founded in 2013, Professional Emergency Medicine Management (PEMM) supports ten contracts throughout nine facilities in southern Louisiana. Led by the group’s President Dr. Shammi Kataria, PEMM joined Emergency Care Partners (ECP) in September of 2018.
Professional Emergency Medicine Management offers data-driven management, true physician leadership, and real expertise in emergency department services — exploring the complete extent of the efficiency process. PEMM’s process approach to improvement strategies are based on proven lean methodologies and transparent, collaborative relationships with hospitals and physicians. PEMM aims to enhance patient satisfaction by making visits better, faster, and more efficient.
Our Facilities & Locations
Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, the main campus of the Memorial Health System, is the region’s largest family-centered medical complex, serving the healthcare needs of Southwest Louisiana. The main campus consists of 313 licensed acute care beds on Oak Park Boulevard. The hospital’s state-of-the-art, 15,102 sq. ft. Medical Intensive Care Unit opened in 2016 on the 9th Floor of the main campus. The existing 10,180 sq. ft., on the 3rd floor Surgical ICU will undergo renovations. Between these two units, Memorial has the largest critical care capacity in southwest Louisiana with a total of 36 beds.
The 40-bed Emergency Department is just under 26,000 sq. ft. and includes specialized treatment areas for critical care, mental health, and fast track non-critical care designed to improve the care process and reduce wait times. The emergency department sees approximately 60,000 patients per year and is supported by an outstanding team of APPs, nurses, and administrative staff.

The city of Lake Charles is conveniently located off Interstate-10 between Houston, TX and New Orleans, LA. The sandy beaches make up the shores of the Calcasieu River just 30 miles upstream from the Gulf of Mexico.
Founded in 1960, the hospital has a staff of more than 100 physicians. Lane Regional Medical Center is a state-of-the-art regional healthcare system that is continually expanding and adding new technologies, programs, and services such as Interventional Cardiology, Medical & Radiation Oncology, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Wound Care and Hyperbaric. With 139 beds, Lane Regional Medical Center provides a full range of medical services, including emergency care, surgery, occupational therapy, pediatrics, psychiatry, imaging, wound care, and sleep studies. The hospital also operates a 30-bed medical rehabilitation center, a 38-bed nursing home, a 12-bed skilled nursing unit, a family practice clinic, and a home health agency.
Lane Regional Medical Center serves as the primary healthcare resource for more than 200,000 of our neighbors located throughout Zachary and the surrounding region of Baker, Central, Clinton, Jackson, St. Francisville, New Roads, and North Baton Rouge.
Lane Regional Medical Center is an accredited Cycle V Chest Pain Center, having achieved a higher level of expertise in treating patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack. Located in Bogalusa on Louisiana’s Northshore, Our Lady of the Angels Hospital is part of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. The hospital is nestled in one of the most scenic rural parishes in the state, surrounded by rolling hills, pine forests, farms, and waterways.
Our Lady of the Angels is small enough to maintain a true sense of family, but large enough to offer a variety of social and professional opportunities. The emergency department sees approximately 27,000 patients per year and features the latest technology. The department has 16 beds with all private rooms, an advanced trauma bay, dedicated decontamination area, Epic EMR system, excellent APP support, and most major specialty back-up.

St. Tammany Parish Hospital’s free-standing emergency department is located slightly south of its main facility in Mandeville. This free standing emergency department is a state of the art, stunning facility within a supportive medical community.
Thibodaux Regional Medical Center is dedicated to handling all medical emergencies quickly and accurately. Our emergency physicians are here 24 hours a day to help you go from critical to comfortable as quickly as possible. The emergency department sees approximately 39,000 patients per year, features 17 beds with a dedicated fast track, and utilizes Meditech EMR.

West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital (WCCH) is a 107-bed facility located in Sulphur, Louisiana, and provides a full range of medical services, including emergency care, surgery, occupational therapy, pediatrics, psychiatry, imaging, wound care, sports medicine, and sleep studies. The hospital also operates a medical rehabilitation center, nursing home, skilled nursing unit, outpatient clinics, and a home health agency.
Since 1953, West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital has grown its commitment of providing exceptional healthcare to the residents of Southwest Louisiana.
