Andy Sama, M.D., FACEP

Executive Vice President

In addition to his role as President of Progressive Emergency Physicians (PEP), Dr. Andrew Sama is Executive Vice President of ECP and a member of the board of directors.

Dr. Sama has been an American College of Emergency Physicians member for more than 25 years. In October 2007, he was elected to the Board of Directors of National ACEP and re-elected in 2010. He served as the secretary-treasurer of ACEP from 2009-2010, vice president from 2010-2011, president-elect from 2011-2012, President from 2012-2013 and Chairman of the Board from 2013-2014. On the state level, Dr. Sama has held numerous positions, most notably serving as President for the New York State Chapter of CEP from 2002-2004 and was named “Physician of the Year” by NY ACEP in 2006.

Dr. Sama received his undergraduate degree from Columbia College at the Columbia University. He then received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency training at North Shore University Hospital.
